Scots pine. Our only native pine. Large tall stemmed picturesque tree with characteristic reddish bark. Grey-green or blue-green twisted needles. May be grown on all types of soil but does not reach its full height on shallow chalk soils or wet acid soils. 10 year height 5m. Ultimate height 18m.
