Small deciduous upright slender tree with upright branches Young leaves coppery-red, turning dark green in summer and yellow in autumn. Profusion of large white flowers in April and May, followed in good years by edible fruits. Moist, well-drained acid soil in sun or part shade. Height after 5years 3-4m.
